GreenCode is a three-year research and innovation project (2024 to 2027) carried out by partners in seven countries. It runs under the ITEA 4 programme of the Eureka network, and each partner's work is funded by its own national innovation agency. The consortium thanks the organisations below: without them the project would not exist.
ITEA 4
The programme GreenCode runs under: ITEA 4 is the Eureka cluster for software innovation, and GreenCode is ITEA project 23016.
ITEA is a transnational, industry-driven research and innovation programme in the field of software innovation. It is one of the Eureka clusters: ITEA labels projects after a two-stage evaluation, and each partner then applies for funding from its own national public authority. ITEA's office in Eindhoven reviews the project's progress every year.
Eureka
The intergovernmental network that ITEA belongs to.
Eureka is a network of more than 45 countries that supports market-oriented, international research and development. Its clusters, of which ITEA is one, bring together companies, research institutes and universities around long-term strategic themes; national governments fund the participants from their own countries.

Innovate UK
Funds the UK partners: Digital Tactics, KAN Engineering and King's College London.
Innovate UK is the United Kingdom's national innovation agency, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), a non-departmental public body funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. It supports business-led innovation and the UK's participation in Eureka programmes.
Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR)
Funds the German partners: RWTH Aachen, Fraunhofer IESE, Siemens, Tokiwa Software, Trier University of Applied Sciences, TWT, the University of Augsburg and ZAL.
The Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt is the German federal ministry responsible for research and technology policy. It succeeded the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), under which the German participation in GreenCode was approved, in 2025, and it funds German participation in ITEA projects through its project management agencies. The funding is administered on the ministry's behalf by DLR Projektträger, the project management agency of the German Aerospace Center.
Innovation Fund Denmark
Funds the Danish partners: Aalborg University and Edora.
Innovationsfonden, Denmark's innovation fund, is an independent public foundation under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. It invests in research and innovation that creates growth and jobs and addresses societal challenges, and it is the Danish funding authority for Eureka and ITEA projects.

Agência Nacional de Inovação (ANI)
Funds the Portuguese partners: ISEP and IrRADIARE.
ANI, the Portuguese National Innovation Agency, promotes collaboration between companies and research institutions and manages Portugal's participation in international research and innovation programmes, including Eureka and ITEA.
Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (CDTI)
Funds the Spanish partners: Panel Sistemas and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
CDTI is the Spanish public business entity, under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, that promotes the technological development and innovation of Spanish companies. It is Spain's funding authority for Eureka and ITEA projects.
TÜBİTAK
Funds the Turkish partners: BLC İletişim ve Güvenlik Sistemleri and VBT Software.
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Araştırma Kurumu) is the national agency for science, technology and innovation policy. It funds Turkish industry and universities in Eureka and ITEA projects through its international programmes.
Partners in Austria and Romania take part in GreenCode at their own cost. The views on this site are the consortium's and do not necessarily reflect those of the funding organisations.
