It was established in 1995, although Siemens has worked in the country since 1905. It brings Siemens technology to Romania's energy, industrial, building and transport infrastructure. The Siemens group employs around 2,900 people in Romania, with research and development centres in Bucharest, Brașov and Cluj-Napoca. It works long-term with five technical universities, including the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and Transilvania University of Brașov, and funds scholarships and a talent programme that feeds its development centres. Worldwide, Siemens works on automation, digitalisation and electrification, including industrial AI, digital twins and industrial software.
