It was founded in 1986 at the Stuttgart technology centre. Today it has around 300 staff at sites in Stuttgart, Munich, Ingolstadt and Friedrichshafen. Its work covers software, product and process development, technical consulting and industrial research, mainly for the automotive, aerospace, healthcare and energy sectors. It also runs publicly funded research on topics such as autonomous driving, digital twins, neuromorphic computing and AI-based production planning, and has taken part in several ITEA projects.
