The Free State of Bavaria founded it in 1970 as a reform university. It started with law, economics, social sciences and the humanities, then added the natural sciences, engineering, computer science and, most recently, medicine. It now has eight faculties and around 20,000 students. Computer science belongs to the Faculty of Applied Computer Science. There, the Professorship for Software Methodologies for Distributed Systems works on resilient, secure software- and data-intensive systems, including enterprise architecture, model-based analysis of IT landscapes, cyber-physical systems and the Internet of Things.

In GreenCode

GreenCode (October 2024 to September 2027) is listed among the projects of the Business & Enterprise Architecture group at the Professorship for Software Methodologies for Distributed Systems. Its entry describes automated analysis and optimisation of inefficient source code and poorly designed IT landscapes.
